Ieri si sono svolti nel suo paese natale (Besana Brianza) i funerali del grande scrittore Eugenio Corti. ”Corti – ha detto il vicario episcopale monsignor Patrizio Garascia che ha concelebrato la funzione funebre – è stato un testimone dei nostri tempi. Un uomo giusto e rispettoso della sua vita”.

Va segnalato, oltre al commosso saluto di quanti lo hanno conosciuto di persona o tramite le sue opere e un messaggio di monsignor Luigi Negri, anche un articolo dell’arcivescovo di Milano, Angelo Scola, pubblicato su Avvenire, in cui il cardinale scrive che “Corti lascia con il suo grande romanzo epico (Il cavallo rosso, ndr) e con tutta la sua produzione letteraria, un’eredità preziosa che ora sta a noi far fruttificare”.

L’arcivescovo ha poi sottolineato che “per Corti solo Dio non censura, solo Dio permette la piena narrabilità della storia, solo in Dio le contraddizioni del cuore umano vengono abbracciate da un Disegno buono”.

“IMMENSO SCRITTORE”. Sebbene in Italia la scomparsa del romanziere sia passata abbastanza inosservata, così non è accaduto in Francia, dove numerose testate – tra cui anche Le Monde – hanno riservato allo scrittore il giusto merito. In particolare, Le Figaro ha parlato di “uno degli immensi scrittori contemporanei, uno dei più grandi, forse il più grande”. “Non avete letto il Cavallo rosso? – ha chiesto Le Figaro – Non conoscete il suo autore? Nato il gennaio 1921, a Besana Brianza, morto nella stessa città il 4 febbraio, questo testimone della grande catastrofe del XX secolo lascia dietro di sé un’opera sconosciuta. Chi se ne preoccupa? Con gli occhi puntati sulla lista dei bestseller, giovani presuntuosi attribuiscono importanza solo agli autori riconosciuti dalla pubblicità. Lasciamoli fare, aspettano i premi letterari, avranno premi letterari. Ognuno ha ciò che si merita”.
