“On March 10, 2016, the Access Group Center for Research & Policy Analysis released the 2016 Legal Education Data Deck (the “Data Deck”). It is comprised of a set of data points showing trends organized around the three driving principles of Access Group’s research agenda – access, affordability and the value of legal education. In addition to updates to the 2015 deck, it includes new figures on the socioeconomic background of law students compared to those in other graduate and professional programs, law students who work while enrolled, and how graduate and professional degree recipients perceive the worth of their degree as it relates to their field of study. The Data Deck was developed for the legal education community, policymakers, and others interested in legal education, to provide them with key pieces of data about national trends in legal education. In compiling this Data Deck, Access Group has organized aggregate data from publicly available data sets from third parties, including but not limited to the Law School Admission Council, the National Conference of Bar Examiners, the National Association for Legal Placement, and the American Bar Association Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar. Access Group is grateful to all of these and other organizations that have made such data available. The Data Deck will be updated throughout the year – Access Group welcomes comments and suggestions so that the Data Deck will continue to be a useful tool for all that review it.”
