DHS Confirms TSA Requested Passenger Data From JetBlue

  • “In a letter to Senate Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Susan Collins (R-ME) and Ranking Member Joe Lieberman (D-CT), Asa Hutchinson, Under Secretary for Border and Transportation Security, said the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) did play a role in obtaining sensitive airline passenger information from JetBlue,” which has now been confirmed to have occured in May/June 2002.
    For reference, previous postings on the JetBlue controversy involving the provision of millions of passenger records to a government contractor for use on behalf of the CAPPS II program.
