FTC's New Fraud Website

by Sabrina I. Pacifici on January 8, 2003

The FTC announced the launch of a new website on cross-border fraud. The site states, “This website has information to help consumers spot, stop and avoid cross-border fraud. You also can review the Federal Trade Commission’s recent law enforcement actions against cross-border scam artists, and learn how the agency is working with law enforcement agencies in other countries to combat this multi-billion dollar problem.”
Also see this related site, EConsumer.gov, which allows users to file an online complaint for cross-border e-commerce violations, that will then be shared with “multiple government enforcement agencies.”
