  • U.S. Commission on Civil Rights: Management Improvements Are Needed to Better Achieve Its Mission, GAO-15-92: Published: Feb 3, 2015. Publicly Released: Feb 3, 2015: “Congress may wish to consider clarifying the roles and responsibilities of commissioners and the staff director. GAO also recommends that the commission make improvements for SACs and engage in comprehensive workforce planning. All the commissioners, except the chair, disagreed with our recommendations to clarify leadership roles and engage in workforce planning. GAO continues to believe these recommendations are appropriate, as discussed in the report.”
  • Enterprise Funds: Egypt and Tunisia Funds Are Established; Additional Steps Would Strengthen Compliance with USAID Grant Agreements and Other Requirements, GAO-15-196: Published: Feb 2, 2015. Publicly Released: Feb 2, 2015: “The Egyptian-American Enterprise Fund (EAEF) has not yet made any investments in Egypt, and the Tunisian-American Enterprise Fund (TAEF) has made an over $2.4 million investment in Tunisia. EAEF has not made any investments in Egypt as its initial investment did not proceed as planned. EAEF’s attempt to purchase a bank in Egypt that would lend money to small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) was rejected by the Egyptian Central Bank.”
