The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONCHIT), Commission on Systemic Interoperability "is charged with developing a comprehensive strategy for the adoption and implementation of health care information technology standards." The commission must deliver to Congress by October 31 a comprehensive plan for the implementation of electronic health records.
