NYC Transit Plays Catch-Up on Security After Years in Holding Pattern

Press release: “The Metropolitan Transportation Authority announced today it has awarded a $212 million contract to Lockheed Martin for a state of the art Integrated Electronic Security System(IESS)/Command, Communication and Control to enhance security throughout the New York transportation network…The IESS calls for the installation of over 1,000 cameras and 3,000 sensors throughout the MTA system. The installation of these security devices will begin immediately.”
