Senate Republican Conference Message of the week, August 4, 2006 – “The nation is enjoying sustained job creation and robust economic expansion under Republican leadership, despite inflation concerns and high energy costs. The economy is making progress, with 19 consecutive quarters of economic (GDP) growth and 35 consecutive months of jobs gains producing more than 5.5 million new jobs. But many American families still are struggling with the high cost of living, especially energy and health care costs. Republicans are continuing work on a pro-growth agenda that will promote more and better jobs with higher wages and improve the standard of living for all Americans.”
