“Last year, 1.75 billion phones were sold to consumers around the world. By the end of 2013, another 240 million tablets and 207 million PCs will be produced and shipped globally. Making all those fun gizmos has a huge environmental cost. Repair is better than recycling. Way better. Repairing and upgrading extends the life of electronics. It keeps things out of landfills, and out of shredders. So, this Earth Day, don’t drop off your broken phone or your old computer at the corner e-waste drive. Repair it.
