Americans "in the dark" on Government Spending According to New Report

“The majority of Americans agree, when it comes to grading the Federal government on fiscal responsibility and management efficiency, the Federal government gets nothing higher than a “C”. According to the recent America, Inc. study, sponsored by Primavera, the general public feels left in the dark as far as knowing how the government spends their money. The study also highlights a disconnect between the American public and federal managers regarding the need for management changes. As a result, many Americans call for new visibility, structure and standard management practices. And how do the federal managers feel about the job they’re doing? While most believe they are meeting or exceeding expectations, 75 percent of managers say their agency does not employ a standardized project management system and cite limited access to project information as impacting project management success. Despite their differing opinions, managers and Americans agree: the government needs to implement standardized management practices and reports to allow for efficiency comparisons across agencies.”
