Map tracks peak bloom for cherry blossoms in Washington, DC. area

Casey Trees: “Here’s Our Updated D.C. Cherry Blossom Map – It’s here! Cherry-blossom season is upon us: The National Park Service predicts the trees along the Tidal Basin will burst into peak bloom next week. That means downtown D.C. and the National Mall will be bursting too – with tourists. Fear not residents of our fair city! We’ve updated our beloved Cherry Blossom map (featuring all blossoms, not just the attention-grabbing Yoshino trees around the Tidal Basin)! Our friends and frequent collaborators Shake Shack have released a special Cherry Blossom shake featuring our blossoms. Get one and get roaming! Other than in their obvious downtown locations, the cherry trees are vaguely clustered around the ‘outer’ edges of the city. So check it out, search for the address of your house, work, or favorite brunch spot and get wandering around the city. There are truly so many trees – and parts of our city! – to enjoy.” [Note – there are about a dozen varieties of cherry blossom trees in the DC, MD, VA area – enjoy them in many neighborhoods, and in the yards of neighbors and friends. Trees are blooming in various areas today – so enjoy walking around the city in locations other than the Tidal Basin. It is a wonderful time of the year in D.C.]
