“The main aim of this paper is to make the appropriate distinction between stress testing performed by CCPs [European central counterparty clearing houses] and those by banking institutions. In addition to this, the paper attempts to provide a compilation of existing best practices of stress testing within the community of CCPs. Furthermore it also sets some boundaries on the possibilities and feasibility of CCP stress testing by providing examples and detailed explanations. Please note that the relevance, appropriateness and feasibility of all elements mentioned in this paper may differ per CCP and cleared market.”
