The Government Lawyers Database

The Government Lawyers Database [GLOW] is a publicly accessible record of the legal professionals who are or were involved in representing or supporting the legal positions of the US Executive Branch. The database is a work-in-progress.

  • It’s the first-ever public record of U.S. Executive Branch attorneys’ conduct. The core problem: Government lawyers have a fundamental duty to the rule of law, but recent events have shown that some prefer the rule of a person. There is no effective accountability mechanism when this happens.
  • GLOW fills that gap. With The Government Lawyers Database, we create accountability through transparency. There is now a searchable record documenting government attorneys’ behavior.
  • The Database tracks seven categories of misconduct, but also celebrates “Defenders of the Rule of Law”: government lawyers who show legal courage and integrity, refusing pressure from superiors to make arguments unsupported by fact or law.
  • This resource is crucial for reporters, researchers, and state bar officials to maintain legal profession integrity. It is also a crucial resource to the public. If government lawyers misbehave, we need to know!
  • Join the mission! We are a nonprofit organization driven by volunteers. Visit our website to explore the Database or volunteer your legal research time. You can also support us financially here: donate.stripe.com/fZueVedjk2cC…
  • Please also collect the government lawyer’s employment termination date. Trump is also collecting the Defenders of the Rule of Law names and putting them on the termination list.
