Security Map collects, synthesizes, visualizes data on violent threats to federal, state, and local officials

Abby André – Executive Director of The Impact Project. “Today, we released an expanded version of The Security Map – and the data is alarming. Between 2015 and 2025:

🔴 Threats to local public servants increased by 2,030%
🔴 Threats to families of public servants increased by 3,700%
🔴 34% of threats against families occurred in 2025 alone

This isn’t just a federal government problem anymore. Librarians. School board members. 911 dispatchers. Election workers. The people keeping our communities running are facing escalating intimidation and many of them have no idea where to turn. The expanded Security Map draws on over 4,500 records across news reports, Princeton’s Bridging Divides Initiative, and federal court data from Chapman University and NCITE making it one of the most comprehensive public datasets of its kind. We built this in partnership with the Public Service Alliance (PSA), whose marketplace connects America’s nearly 40 million current and former public servants with trusted free, discounted, or subsidized services to help protect them and their families. Because awareness is only the first step. Public servants deserve real resources too.”
