Feel Free to Move About the Airport: Turbulence Continues to Roil the Airline Industry, July 25, 2007 in Knowledge@Wharton: “Airline consumer advocates contend delays are now a routine part of air travel. For the first five months of this year, the major airlines’ on-time arrival rate was 73.5%, the lowest for that period in the past seven years, according to the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Travel Statistics. Complaints about airline service were up 49% from May 2006. As if that weren’t troubling enough, airline consumer advocates have testified before Congress that DOT figures do not even measure the true extent of the problems.”
