Gulf Coast Mayors Launch Websites to Assist in Recovery Efforts

From the U.S. Conference of Mayors: “Two new web sites and relief funds have been created to help raise donations for the recovery effort in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast area:

  • “New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has established the “The Bring New Orleans Back Fund” which “is the only non-profit fund exclusively dedicated to the restoration of the City of New Orleans.” Donations can be made by going to bringneworleansback.com.
  • “Mobile Mayor Mike Dow has created the “Mayors on a Mission” campaign to help cities in the Mississippi and Alabama Gulf Coast area recover from Hurricane Katrina. By going to mayorsonamission.com, cities and individuals can find information on how to contribute cash and goods. The U.S. Conference of Mayors is working closely with Mayor Dow on this effort.”
