Report by Independent Commission on the Security Forces of Iraq

“The Independent Commission on the Security Forces of Iraq has released its report assessing the readiness of the Iraqi military and police forces. Chaired by General James L. Jones, USMC (Ret.), the congressionally mandated commission — comprised of 20 former senior military officers, defense officials, and law enforcement officers — spent three weeks with its “collective boots on the ground,” interviewing troops and experts in Iraq for the non-partisan report. CSIS provided the research and administrative staff for the Commission.”
