However, if a program is still needed after its assigned shutoff date—September 30, 2010 in the case of subsidized jobs—policy-makers can extend it. Given the effectiveness of the program, its benefits to its recipients, their employers, and their communities, along with the clear need for more jobs, the Obama administration strongly supports extending the program.”
