USA Facts – Nearly 25% of flights did not arrive on-time from April to June of 2025: “As of late September 2025, an average of more than 2.4 million people on average were clearing security in American airports every day. That figure is about 9% higher than the number of passengers in September 2019, the last comparison before the pandemic. Two million commercial domestic flights were scheduled from April to June of 2025, about 3.5% lower than the same period in 2019. In spring 2025, nearly a quarter of flights did not arrive on time. That’s the tardiest second quarter for commercial air travel since 2014. The Bureau of Transportation Statistics defines a flight as on time if it arrives within 15 minutes of the originally scheduled time.
