Gideon Lichfield: Well, that’s an interesting question because I, at some point, like most people, uploaded all my CDs to my laptop and put them in iTunes, and at some point after that—and the upgrades from one laptop to another—most of that music disappeared. And Apple evidently decided that because I had not downloaded that music directly from Apple, I couldn’t possibly own it. So I no longer have access to it, even though it is in my basement…”
